Logo design is all around us. Logos serve as an instant reminder of a company or a product. Organizations use logos to attract and display what they have to offer. Keeping this in mind, the Ruby Rooster Festival logo was created for a fictional folk music festival that supported local farmers and CSA’s. I was inspired by woodcut printmaking when sketching this logo, primarily because the labor of creating the print paralleled the labor and attention involved in local farming. The mark I chose to represent the festival was a rooster, one that has long been associated with farming. The collateral shown here would be used in the market and vendor area of the festival.
